November 'Second Half Active Administration Competition' and December 'Institution Evaluation' Continue to Promote Active Administration
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The Office for Government Policy Coordination announced that since the deputy ministerial meeting on the 3rd of last month, a total of seven rounds of relay presentations on proactive administration by 29 agencies have been conducted, concluding the schedule on the 21st with presentations from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, Ministry of Government Legislation, and Seoul Metropolitan Government.
This presentation aimed to promote proactive administration by encouraging agency heads through deputy ministers' direct explanations, reviewing the progress of key tasks according to each agency's '2020 Proactive Administration Implementation Plan,' the second half economic policy direction, and major areas such as public inconvenience and corporate support.
The Office for Government Policy Coordination is sharing these presentation materials with central government ministries and local governments to encourage benchmarking of excellent policies and cases.
In November, a second half proactive administration contest will be held, and in December, proactive administration evaluations will be conducted to continuously expand proactive administration within the public service community.
Yoon-chul Koo, head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, said, "Prime Minister Jeong Sye-kyun always emphasizes that it is okay to break a plate while working, but it is not acceptable for dust to accumulate on the plate due to not working," and urged, "Deputy ministers should personally ensure that various 'plate administrations' emerge throughout the public service."
