‘National Actor’ Ahn Sung-ki (68) was hospitalized due to health issues and has since been discharged, a fact that was revealed belatedly.

According to the film industry on the 20th, Ahn collapsed while exercising at a fitness center on the 8th and visited a hospital in Seoul. The cause was overwork. Last summer, he was busy traveling between Mokpo and Gangneung for the filming of director Kim Han-min’s Hansan: Rising Dragon. It is reported that his physical strength was extremely depleted due to participating in various film events as well. Ahn was hospitalized for about ten days to regain stability and was discharged on the 19th.

He plans to suspend activities and rest for the time being. He will not participate in the promotional schedule for his starring film Paper Flower, which opens on the 22nd, nor will he attend the opening ceremony of the 18th Asiana International Short Film Festival, where he serves as the executive chairman. He has also canceled his attendance at the Busan International Film Festival, which he has attended every year.
