Awarded a Plaque of Appreciation for Contributions to the 12th Seoul International Architecture Film Festival
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kim Jeong-tae, Chair of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Steering Committee (Democratic Party of Korea·Yeongdeungpo 2), received a plaque of appreciation on the 13th from the Seoul International Architecture Film Festival.
The Korea Institute of Registered Architects (President Seok Jeong-hoon), the organizer of the film festival, presented the plaque of appreciation, stating, "In celebration of the 12th Seoul International Architecture Film Festival, held for seven days from October 21, we awarded the plaque to Chair Kim Jeong-tae in recognition of his contribution to expanding the base of architectural culture and raising citizens' interest in architecture and space."
Chair Kim said, "Architecture is moving beyond being merely the space of citizens' lives to becoming a part of life itself," and added, "I am very pleased to receive this meaningful plaque of appreciation from the Seoul International Architecture Film Festival, the only international architecture film festival in Asia, which has promoted the popularization of architectural culture and the social role of architects through the popular medium of film."
Kim Jeong-tae has consistently shown interest in urban architecture directly connected to citizens' lives while serving as Chair of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's Urban Planning and Management Committee and Steering Committee.
In particular, he has made efforts to raise awareness of the cultural value of architecture and citizens' interest. He promised to continue dedicating himself to various activities that help citizens understand architecture and space, which are becoming part of life and culture.
Now in its 12th year, the Seoul International Architecture Film Festival is a cultural and artistic event that expresses "architecture" through "film." It is Asia's only architecture film festival, established in 2009 with the aim of highlighting the value and cultural achievements of architecture. This year, starting with the opening film In the Path of the Stones, about 25 carefully selected domestic and international works will be screened over seven days from October 21 on WAVVE and YouTube.
