2020 Korea Sale Festa, Over 1,000 Companies Submit Participation Applications
Manufacturing Companies Apply, Nearly Double Compared to Previous Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] More than 1,000 companies are participating in South Korea's shopping week, the '2020 Korea Sale Festa.' This is the largest number during the same period since the Korea Sale Festa began in 2016.
According to related industries on the 11th, as of the 7th, about four weeks before the application deadline on the 31st, more than 1,000 companies have submitted their participation applications for the Korea Sale Festa. This represents a 42% increase compared to the previous year. The organizing committee expects even more companies to participate, considering that the application period has not yet closed.
In particular, applications from manufacturing companies nearly doubled this year. By industry, 249 distribution companies had applied as of the 7th. Last year, 256 companies participated. Manufacturing companies surged from 345 last year to 681 this year.
Participating companies can freely register their shopping information, such as sale periods, sale products, and promotions they plan to conduct during the Korea Sale Festa, on the official website. The detailed shopping information of registered companies will be sequentially disclosed at the timing desired by each company according to their marketing strategies, allowing consumers to check the shopping information of participating companies through the website.
The organizing committee stated, "We believe that many companies have shown interest due to the expectation that consumer sentiment, which has been subdued by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, will recover through the 2020 Korea Sale Festa," adding, "We are preparing various events and content to create a shopping week that satisfies both participating companies and consumers."
