[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University has partnered with the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control to establish educational infrastructure and systematically train experts in the fields of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security.
Chosun University announced on the 8th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control regarding the establishment of educational infrastructure and systematic expert training in nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security.
The signing ceremony was attended by Min Youngdon, President of Chosun University; Professors Jeong Ungwan, Lee Kyungjin, Kim Jinwon, Kim Jonghyun, and Gong Taeyoung from the Department of Nuclear Engineering; Kim Seokcheol, Director of the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control; Lee Nayoung, Head of the Nuclear Security Headquarters; Shin Donghoon, Director of the Education Training Center; and Jeong Jinho, Head of the External Cooperation Team.
The specific contents of the agreement include ▲ cooperation and operation of educational programs for domestic workforce training ▲ development of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security education programs and textbooks for effective education ▲ provision of publicly available information related to nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security and expert support ▲ hosting domestic and international seminars, workshops, and symposiums for expert training, and joint promotion of research and development on technologies and policies related to nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security.
President Min Youngdon stated, “The Department of Nuclear Engineering at Chosun University fosters field-oriented engineers through industry-academia cooperation with institutions related to nuclear power,” adding, “Through this MOU with the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control, we will strive to cultivate experts in the fields of nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security.”
Kim Seokcheol, Director of the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control, said, “The two institutions will cooperate to build educational infrastructure and actively engage in exchange activities to strengthen national capabilities in nuclear nonproliferation and nuclear security.”
