Chosun University’s ‘AI·SW Robot Coding Classroom’ Program Successfully Completed

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The ‘AI·SW Robot Coding Class’ program conducted by Chosun University received great responses from students and parents.

According to Chosun University on the 5th, the university’s SW-Centered University Project Group supported the ‘AI·SW Robot Coding Class’ program six times from August 9 to the 27th of last month at the Kia Motors Gwangju Education Center for the children of the Kia Motors Gwangju Branch Labor Union elementary school employees.

This educational program was promoted to allow participants to see and enjoy various robots and AI·SW contents all in one place.

The AI·SW Robot Coding Class was conducted in small groups of fewer than 25 people to comply with COVID-19 prevention measures.

A Kia Motors official said, “This program was so popular that it was fully booked within an hour of registration opening,” adding, “By conducting AI·SW education, which is usually difficult to experience at school, using robots, it received a lot of interest and positive responses from students and parents. Many parents and students are still waiting to participate, so we ask that SW-related education continue to be provided in the future.”

Professor Cho Youngju, in charge of the SW-Centered University Project Group, stated, “I hope this was a rewarding time where participants developed interest and curiosity in AI (Artificial Intelligence) and SW (Software), essential elements of the 4th Industrial Revolution era, and were able to explore and better understand AI·SW career fields.”
