KT Launches '5G Save, 5G Simple' Plans

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 5th that it will launch two new mid-range 5G plans, ‘5G Save’ and ‘5G Simple’.

‘5G Save’ is a plan for customers who do not use much data, priced in the 40,000 KRW range per month. It provides 5GB of data monthly, and after the basic allowance is used up, data can be used at speeds up to 400Kbps (kilobits per second). The monthly fee is 45,000 KRW (including VAT). With a 25% discount for contract selection, the monthly fee is reduced to 33,750 KRW.

‘5G Simple’ is a plan below KT’s fully unlimited data plan ‘Super Plan Basic’ (monthly fee 80,000 KRW, fully unlimited domestic data). The monthly fee is 69,000 KRW, and with the contract selection discount, it is 51,750 KRW.

Users can use 110GB of data monthly. After using the basic data, data can be used at speeds of 5Mbps (megabits per second). 5Mbps is a speed sufficient for smooth viewing of HD-quality videos. The ‘5G Simple’ plan also allows sharing 10GB of data with other smart devices such as tablet PCs.

Additionally, KT has increased the basic data allowance of the ‘5G Slim’ plan, which provides 8GB of data monthly, from 8GB to 10GB. This change has been effective since the 1st of this month. To celebrate the launch of ‘Super Plan Choice,’ KT has extended the ‘Netflix 3-month unlimited promotion’ until October 31. Customers subscribing to ‘Super Plan Basic Choice’ or higher plans can use ‘Netflix Standard,’ worth 12,000 KRW per month, unlimited for three months.
