Government to Distribute 3.3 Trillion Won in 2nd Disaster Relief Fund to 7.44 Million People Before Chuseok


[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The second emergency disaster relief fund, prepared through the 4th supplementary budget (supplementary budget), has disbursed 54 trillion won to project execution agencies out of the total budget of 78 trillion won by the 29th, and among them, 33 trillion won has been paid to recipients such as small business owners.


The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced the payment results before Chuseok for the 4th supplementary budget on the 30th.


By major project, the Small Business New Hope Fund disbursed 2 trillion won to 1.86 million confirmed recipients (1 to 2 million won per person) out of 2.41 million applicants through online applications, etc. For small business owners whose sales verification is difficult only with administrative information, payments will be made from October after confirmation by local governments.


In addition, the special childcare support paid 200,000 won per person to 2.38 million preschool children and 2.7 million elementary school students. Middle school students (1.32 million) will receive payments through school banking accounts, and out-of-school children (160,000) will receive payments in October through applications at education support offices.


The emergency employment stabilization fund for special employment workers (special types of workers) and freelancers was paid 500,000 won per person to 455,000 people who were verified among those who received the first emergency employment stabilization fund. The 200,000 people who were not included in the first round and will newly receive it this time will be paid in November.


Along with this, the youth job-seeking activity support fund paid 500,000 won per person to 41,000 applicants out of 60,000 eligible recipients.


The closed store re-challenge incentive was paid 500,000 won per person to 6,000 people who completed re-start education out of 27,000 confirmed through administrative information.


Furthermore, for projects requiring application and eligibility review such as family care leave cost support (125,000 people) and indirect labor cost support for flexible work systems (20,000 people), payments will be made after the review process following Chuseok. Payments for mobile phone bills, Hope Work Support Project, and temporary support for flu vaccination will be made according to the progress of bill payments, job participation and work, and vaccination projects.
