[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam County will open some public facilities, including major tourist attractions, until the holiday period of Hangeul Day on the 11th of next month, including the Chuseok holiday.

According to Haenam County on the 30th, major tourist attractions such as Ttangkkeut Observatory, Wusuyeong Tourist Site, Haenam Dinosaur Museum, Gosan Historic Site, Duryun Miro Park, and Yang Hanmuk Memorial Hall have been open since the 29th.

In addition, nine outdoor sports facilities operated by Haenam County, including Useul Stadium, have also reopened for use.

However, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, indoor facilities limit the number of users to 50 people, and indoor sports facilities such as Useul National Sports Center, as well as the Culture and Arts Center, Art Museum, Ttangkkeut Auto Camping Site, Ttangkkeut Hwangto Nara Theme Village, Duryun Miro Park Experience Center, and Heukseoksan Natural Recreation Forest will not operate.

The county decided to open some facilities to provide comfort to residents who have been restricted in their activities for a long time due to COVID-19 and to discourage visits to areas outside the county during the Chuseok holiday.

The facilities to be opened are limited to public facilities where quarantine rule management is possible and the risk of infection is relatively low, and will be operated in strict compliance with quarantine rules such as social distancing and mask-wearing according to the special Chuseok quarantine measures.

A county official said, “We decided to resume the operation of tourist sites and others to relieve the depression of residents who have been restricted in their activities ahead of the Chuseok holiday,” and emphasized, “Visitors must strictly follow personal quarantine rules such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands.”
