Cloudy and somewhat chilly during the holiday... Rain expected on the 3rd
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] This Chuseok, it is expected that the full moon will be visible through the clouds.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 29th, there will be many clouds during the holiday period until the 4th of next month, and rain is expected for a short time on the morning of the 3rd.
On the 30th, when the main holiday begins, clouds will be abundant, and raindrops will fall mainly along the west coast due to rain clouds formed by the collision of cold air flowing in from the north and the relatively warm air staying over Korea.
On Chuseok day, the 1st of next month, the Meteorological Administration forecasts that although it will be mostly cloudy, the full moon will be visible through the clouds.
From the 2nd to the 4th, cold and dry air will again flow in from the northwest, causing many clouds due to cloud bands formed by the collision with relatively warm air.
Also, warm and humid air flowing in from the southwest will rise over the cold air, creating rain clouds, and rain is expected on the morning of the 3rd.
However, depending on the strength of the cold air flowing into the upper atmosphere, the area and duration of rainfall may expand.
During the holiday, temperatures will tend to gradually decrease, and the temperature difference between day and night will be more than 10℃, especially inland.
From the night of the 4th, strong winds of 9 to 14 m/s will blow mainly along the west coast due to the influence of a cold high-pressure system approaching from the northwest.
In the southern part of the West Sea offshore, waves will rise to 1.5 to 3 meters as winds blow strongly at 9 to 14 m/s, and waves will also be somewhat high at 1 to 2.5 meters in other seas.
