Honam University 2021 Early Admission 5.65:1... 6th Consecutive Year as No.1 Private University in Gwangju and Jeonnam

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) announced on the 28th that 9,321 applicants applied for the '2021 Academic Year Early Admission' recruiting 1,651 students, recording an average competition rate of 5.65 to 1, the highest competition rate for six consecutive years among four-year private universities in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.


It continued its record as the number one private university in Gwangju and Jeonnam for early admission competition rates in the 2015, 2016, and 2017 academic years, number one in Gwangju and Jeonnam including national and public universities in 2019, and number one private university in Gwangju and Jeonnam in 2020.


The Department of Physical Therapy recorded a competition rate of 13 to 1 with 570 applicants for 44 recruits, the Department of Dental Hygiene had 468 applicants for 45 recruits with a 10.4 to 1 ratio, the Department of Nursing had 1,546 applicants for 168 recruits with 9.2 to 1, and the Department of Emergency Medical Services had 424 applicants for 55 recruits with 7.7 to 1.


Additionally, the Department of Police Administration had 339 applicants for 44 recruits with 7.7 to 1, the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology had 315 applicants for 46 recruits with 6.9 to 1, the Department of Fire Administration had 254 applicants for 39 recruits with 6.5 to 1, the Department of Cartoon and Animation had 206 applicants for 34 recruits with 6.1 to 1, the Department of Culinary Arts had 367 applicants for 61 recruits with 6 to 1, and the Department of Social Welfare had 292 applicants for 50 recruits with 5.84 to 1. The newly established Department of Clinical Pathology recorded a competition rate of 6.72 to 1 with 195 applicants for 29 recruits.


By the 20th of next month, the university will announce the first-stage successful candidates and interview candidates for the Department of Nursing and Department of Physical Therapy under the general student selection, conduct interviews on the 29th of the same month, and announce the final successful candidates for departments without minimum CSAT score requirements and interview screening on November 13.


However, for departments where the minimum CSAT score requirement applies, the final successful candidates will be announced on December 26.
