Gwangju Urban Railway Selected as Excellent Institution for 7 Consecutive Years in Ministry of the Interior and Safety Management Evaluation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Yoon Jin-bo) announced on the 28th that it was selected as an excellent institution for seven consecutive years for the first time among urban railway operating organizations in the ‘2020 National Local Public Enterprise Management Evaluation’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

In this evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting 249 local public enterprises nationwide, the concept of sustainable management was introduced, placing great emphasis on spreading social value and creating innovation performance in public institutions. The corporation received excellent evaluations for creating company-wide social value through thorough safety management and establishing a cooperative system with the local community.

The corporation has been highly praised as the nation’s top safety urban railway through advanced safety management, being selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s disaster management evaluation, and receiving excellent grade certification in the Disaster Response Safety Korea Training.

Additionally, it was the first urban railway operating organization to be certified with the Customer Satisfaction Management System (ISO 10002), achieved first place in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s customer satisfaction survey, and was designated as the only railway vehicle maintenance training institution in the Honam region, achieving good results in various fields.

Along with this, it was also recognized for contributing to the revitalization of the local economy through the activation of the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card, leading job creation within the region, and taking the lead in realizing social value as a local public enterprise by delivering donations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
