On the 28th, Chief Go Min-gwan visited the Jeju Port Passenger Ship Terminal Operation Management Center and urged thorough safety management, including COVID-19 quarantine measures and special transportation during the Chuseok holiday.
He then visited the Jeju Maritime Police rescue team to check emergency rescue readiness in case of marine accidents during the Chuseok holiday period.
From the 28th to the 30th, the start of the Chuseok holiday, Jeju Maritime Police plans to continuously inspect the safety management of multi-use vessels such as passenger ships, fishing vessels, and pilot boats within the jurisdiction of Jeju and Hallim police substations for 2 nights and 3 days.
Chief Go Min-gwan said, “Although we cannot spend the Chuseok holiday with our families, I commend the efforts of all maritime police officers who do their best for the safety of visitors returning to their hometowns, tourists, and residents.” He added, “We will listen to the difficulties faced by frontline sites such as police substations to ensure that maritime police officers also have a comfortable and safe Chuseok holiday.”
