Heerim Wins Design Contract for Gwacheon Jugong 8 and 9 Complex Reconstruction

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Heerim Architects & Planners, a firm specializing in architectural design and construction management (CM), has been selected as the design firm for the Gwacheon Jugong 8 and 9 Complex Housing Reconstruction Project in Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi Province.

Heerim announced on the 28th that the Gwacheon Jugong 8 and 9 Complex Housing Reconstruction Maintenance Project Association Establishment Promotion Committee finalized Heerim as the design firm through a resident vote conducted via a design competition. Located in Burim-dong, Gwacheon-si, the Gwacheon Jugong 8 and 9 Complex consists of a total of 2,120 households, with 1,400 units in Complex 8 and 720 units in Complex 9. Following the approval of the promotion committee in May, the goal is to obtain association establishment approval within this year.

Heerim plans to maximize the value of the complex with differentiated strategies including two landmark towers befitting the large-scale complex formed by the merging of the two complexes, three-sided open specialized floor plans, improved livability in the low-rise sections, high-end community facility specialization, securing safe public pedestrian pathways, and convenience linked to subway entrances. In particular, the design will reflect the latest lifestyle and residential culture trends and create a safe residential space suitable for the post-COVID-19 era, aiming to rebirth the complex as a new landmark of Gwacheon.

A Heerim representative stated, "Based on Heerim’s top-tier design technology and experience, we plan to design a premium residential complex," adding, "Furthermore, we will do our utmost to ensure the successful completion of the Gwacheon Jugong 8 and 9 Complex Housing Reconstruction Maintenance Project."
