"Purchased Items Delivered Contactlessly to Welfare Facilities"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Sung Yun-mo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, will visit 'Sejong Traditional Market' in Jochiwon-eup, Sejong Special Self-Governing City on the 28th ahead of the Chuseok holiday. The visit aims to check the quarantine situation and holiday prices and to encourage market merchants.
On the day, Minister Sung will purchase goods using Onnuri gift certificates together with officials from the Market Merchants Association and listen to the difficulties faced by traditional market merchants struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
He will then deliver holiday items such as meat and fruit purchased at the traditional market to 'Jeonui Joseph's House,' a nursing facility for the elderly located in Wonseong-ri, Jeonui-myeon, Sejong City, through a non-face-to-face method.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy explained that the items are delivered non-face-to-face considering the current situation where access to social welfare facilities is restricted due to the spread of COVID-19.
