Support Event for Overseas Koreans and Local Businesses Facing Difficulties Due to COVID-19

[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Jo Young-shin] An event was held in Beijing, China, to support Korean residents and local businesses struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) crisis.

Korean Festival Held in Beijing, China From the 25th to the 26th, the '2020 Beijing K-FESTA' will be held in Wangjing, the largest Korean residential area in Beijing.


From the 25th to the 26th, the '2020 Beijing K-FESTA' took place in the Qilinsa commercial district of Wangjing (望京), the largest Korean community area in Beijing, with full participation from the Korean Food Service Association in China, the Beijing Korean Small and Medium Business Association, and the Korea Tourism Organization.


Thirty-five booths featuring Korean cosmetics and beauty products, Korean restaurants, Korean home appliances, and Korean character merchandise were set up to introduce Korean products to Chinese consumers.

Korean Festival Held in Beijing, China Jang Ha-sung, the Ambassador of Korea to China, visited the site of the '2020 Beijing K-FESTA' to listen to the difficulties faced by Korean residents and local businesses and to offer encouragement.


This event, which has a strong influence on consumers in China, also included live coverage by Wanghong (網紅, Chinese online influencers).


The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China stated, "This event is the first large-scale event held in Wangjing, Beijing, since the outbreak of COVID-19," adding, "It will have a significant exposure effect on Chinese people and will help promote various Korean products."
