[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Korea Technology plans to support COVID-19 prevention efforts by partnering with the Seoul Metropolitan Council to donate quarantine supplies.

KOSDAQ-listed Korea Technology (CEO Shin Yonggu) announced that on the 25th at 10:30 a.m., it held a delivery ceremony for the UVC ultraviolet 'Anti-co' sterilizer to the Community Chest of Korea Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest in the chairman's reception room of the Seoul Metropolitan Council.

The donation event was attended by Kim Inho, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council; Shin Yonggu, CEO of Korea Technology; Kim Yonghee, Secretary General of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest; and other executives and staff.

The Anti-co sterilizers will be delivered to social welfare institutions requiring additional COVID-19 prevention through the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest. They will be used to protect the health and hygiene of vulnerable groups, employees, and visitors at each center.

The Anti-co sterilizer distributed by Korea Technology is gaining attention as a product following the successful experiment on the 'virus removal effect of ultraviolet light' conducted by a Dutch lighting company and Boston University in the United States.

According to the research results, when viruses such as COVID-19 were exposed to the sterilizer's ultraviolet light, the DNA was destroyed, demonstrating antiviral efficacy by removing 99% of the virus within 6 seconds.

Shin Yonggu, CEO of Korea Technology, explained, "With Chuseok, which involves large-scale population movement, approaching, it is a situation where quarantine must be more thorough. Therefore, we decided to donate sterilizers to help vulnerable groups in COVID-19 prevention."

Kim Inho, Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, stated, "We appreciate the support of companies helping with quarantine efforts and hope that various public-private collaborations to end COVID-19 will continue."

A representative of the Seoul Community Chest of Korea said, "This donation enables neighbors in vulnerable quarantine groups to live healthy lives and prevent COVID-19. The Seoul Community Chest of Korea will continue to do its best to support vulnerable groups in blind spots exposed to the risk of COVID-19 due to insufficient quarantine."

Meanwhile, Korea Technology is the official distributor of the global company Xiaomi in Korea. It achieved a turnaround this year by recording net profits in both sales and operating profit in the first half of the year.

In particular, it is practicing responsible management by becoming the 100% shareholder of Korean Invest, the largest shareholder of its subsidiary Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, thereby securing control rights.
