[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 24th, Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, visited low-income elderly living alone in the area who have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, delivering health and welfare supplies in celebration of the 24th Senior Citizens' Day.
Instead of the annual senior event, Seongdong-gu plans to express gratitude and congratulations this year by delivering support items such as KF94 masks, snack packages, and congratulatory cards to about 1,000 elderly living alone.
In particular, for about 50 elderly people with mobility difficulties, including the elderly, the heads of the 17 neighborhoods (dong) will personally visit to deliver supplies and carefully check on their health and well-being.
Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, daily restrictions have increased, which may have heightened the anxiety and loneliness of the elderly. We will protect the elderly with thorough care so that those who have built today through sacrifice and dedication can enjoy a safe and healthy daily life."
