On the 24th Senior Citizens' Day, Namwon Sandong-myeon O Seong-yeol Receives Presidential Citation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Mr. Oh Seong-yeol, a member of the Sandong-myeon Rural Leaders who has practiced exceptional generosity by making millet canes for elderly people with mobility difficulties for over 10 years, will receive the Presidential Citation on the 25th at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul in celebration of the 24th Senior Citizens' Day.

Mr. Oh personally cultivated millet and has made over 500 canes annually since 2010, donating them to the local community.

In particular, this year, he additionally donated 100 canes to Namwon City Hall to comfort elderly people going through difficult times due to COVID-19.

Moreover, he has contributed passionately to creating a clean village environment by leading recycling efforts, taking the initiative in preparing for village events, promoting the use of canes to enhance residents' safety awareness, and fostering community harmony to make the area a better place to live.

Mr. Oh said, “I have only given heartfelt gifts to elderly people with mobility difficulties. It is an honor to receive such a great award, and I will continue to share canes as long as my health permits.”
