Kyung Hee University Institute of International Area Studies and Gyeonggi Provincial Museum Launch Online Humanities Lecture Series

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Kyung Hee University Institute of International Area Studies announced on the 24th that it will broadcast online humanities lectures on the history and culture of the Yongin area via YouTube.


The Kyung Hee University Institute of International Area Studies, together with the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, will conduct these online lectures through the YouTube channel 'Kyung Hee University IGA Humanities City' and the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum website. Kim Seonghwan, director of the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, along with six curators from the museum, will personally deliver the lectures (a total of 8 sessions). This lecture series was promoted after being selected for the Humanities City Support Project, funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea for three years. In the first year (September 2020 to June 2021), the second half of this year will cover the history and culture of Yongin, and the first half of next year will focus on the history and literature of Yongin.


Kim Junyeop, director of the Kyung Hee University Institute of International Area Studies, stated, "We will utilize local humanities assets to enhance the social contribution of the humanities and provide lectures and cultural events that combine humanities and culture to local residents."
