Korean Mundipharma Ginobetacare® Selected for the 2020 Good Design (GD) Award

- Campaign Message 'Know My Body Properly' Deeply Conveyed Through Package Design

Korean Mundipharma Ginobetacare® Selected for the 2020 Good Design (GD) Award

Gyno-Betacare®, a feminine cleanser by Korea Mundipharma Co., Ltd. (CEO Myungse Lee), was selected as a Good Design (GD) WINNER at the 2020 Good Design Award.

The Good Design Award, hosted annually since 1985 by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, is the most prestigious design award system in Korea. It comprehensively evaluates products across seven categories including appearance, functionality, materials, and economy, awarding the GD (GOOD DESIGN) mark to products recognized for design excellence.

The selected work, the ‘Gyno-Betacare® Lee Yeon Edition,’ is part of the ‘Find Me, I love Me’ campaign, developed to encourage women to pay attention to their bodies and make careful care a habit. The packaging, designed by drawing artist and YouTube creator Lee Yeon, attracted attention by metaphorically depicting the journey of getting to know one’s body as a voyage through forests and seas. The packaging also incorporates objects discovered on that journey, which received notable recognition. In particular, artist Lee Yeon shared her personal experiences and expressed various female Y-zone shapes as different flowers, making the product approachable and sincere to consumers, earning high praise.

Gyno-Betacare® has composed this edition with special items to help express and love the female Y-zone, which was previously considered embarrassing to mention, thereby embodying the brand’s value. To allow women to freely explore and care for their bodies, the edition thoughtfully includes a mirror to directly view the vulva, a pH tester to check the health status of the Y-zone, and a paper folding guidebook to make the Y-zone’s structure more familiar to consumers.

The selection of Gyno-Betacare® for the GD Award not only proves the excellence of its design but also carries a meaningful message of ‘loving my body,’ which is one of the recent social issues.

Im Hayoung, manager of Gyno-Betacare® at Korea Mundipharma, said, “We are pleased to be selected for the GD Award, the only government certification in the domestic design sector,” and added, “We hope more women will not feel ashamed of their bodies but look at them carefully and love themselves.”
