Naju-si to Accept Entries for 'Local Food Art Contest' Starting from the 6th of Next Month

[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 24th that it will accept entries for the "Local Food Drawing Contest" for local elementary, middle, and high school students from the 6th to the 8th of next month.

This contest is expected to provide an opportunity for adolescent students, who are forming their dietary habits, to understand and share the public value and meaning of local food through creative activities related to food from production areas.

The contest theme is either "Naju Local Food That Gets Better the More You Live" or "Naju Local Food That You Want to See More and More," featuring drawings that can well express local food, such as the interior and exterior views of direct sales stores, agricultural products for sale, and the appearances of producers and consumers.

The artwork size should be on 8-cheol (272*394 mm) or 4-cheol (394*545 mm) drawing paper.

Applications can be submitted by visiting the Bitgaram or Geumnam branches of the local food direct sales store during the application period with the application form posted on the city hall website.

Winning works will be selected through judging and announced individually as well as on the Naju Local Food SNS (Band) in the middle of next month.

For each division?elementary, middle, and high school?one grand prize winner, one excellence prize winner, and two encouragement prize winners will be selected and awarded a certain amount of Naju Love Gift Certificates.

Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "I hope this contest will serve as an opportunity for young people, the future generation, to recognize the importance of local agriculture and food," and added, "We will continue to promote various policies to expand a local food consumption culture based on coexistence and trust."
