Jang Je-won: "Kim Jong-in, Can't Follow Lawmakers' Opinions Over 'Party Color'... Emergency Committee's Penny Wise, Pound Foolish"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, criticized, saying, "Kim Jong-in, the emergency committee chairman, insisted on changing the party color," and asked, "Is it not possible to decide the party color according to the majority opinion of the lawmakers?"

On the 24th, Jang said on Facebook, "For some reason, it feels like a wound has been inflicted on my heart."

He pointed out, "Changing the party's symbolic color was an issue that could have been decided by gathering various opinions in a friendly atmosphere and choosing the direction desired by the majority," and added, "If they thought that failing to enforce the party color change would damage the leadership's authority, that is a narrow-minded, old-fashioned mindset."

Jang said, "If it was stubbornness driven by an obsession with change, it only piled up another layer of dissatisfaction among the lawmakers," and criticized, "The emergency committee committed 'sotamdaesil (small greed, big loss)."

He questioned, "While criticizing the Moon Jae-in administration that tries to defeat the people, Chairman Kim is actually trying to defeat the party members. What kind of great reform is changing the party color?" and emphasized, "It is time to focus on substance, not appearance."

Jang said, "With one-way party management, I have a bad feeling that the lifespan of the changes and reforms promoted by Chairman Kim will be even shorter," and added, "We must never repeat the dark history of a one-man dominant party in the past."
