[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) held the 9th Hope Sharing Event Donation Ceremony at 2 p.m. on the 23rd in the district office square.
The Hope Sharing Event, sponsored by the Samyuk Foundation (medical institutions such as Samyuk Seoul Hospital, Samyuk Dental Hospital, social welfare centers, churches, etc.), was held for the 9th time this year to help neighbors in need in the area have a warm holiday.
At the event, donation items worth about 47 million KRW from the Samyuk Foundation, including 1,350 Chuseok gift sets and 1,350 boxes of soy milk, were handed over to Dongdaemun-gu office employees.
The donated items will be personally delivered by district office employees to 1,350 vulnerable households with whom they have a 1:1 partnership before the Chuseok holiday.
Additionally, a Hope Wish Fulfillment event will be held together. Through sponsorship worth about 16 million KRW, the Samyuk Foundation will select 15 households among the 1:1 partnered families to support medical and cultural activities such as health checkups, dental correction, and commemorative gifts that are usually difficult to receive.
Meanwhile, including this Chuseok Hope Sharing Event, the Samyuk Foundation has practiced neighborly love by delivering donation items and fulfilling hope wishes worth a total of about 650 million KRW to date.
Choi Hong-yeon, Deputy Mayor, said, “In the holiday atmosphere different from previous years due to COVID-19, I express my gratitude to the Samyuk Foundation, which never spares support even in the weakened economic situation to ensure no neighbors are left out.” He added, “We will carefully deliver the donated items to the 1:1 partnered households together with the employees so that everyone can have a joyful and warm Chuseok holiday.”
