Jeju Group Sound 'South Carnival' Appointed as Jeju Coast Guard Public Relations Ambassador

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The representative group sound of Jeju, ‘South Carnival,’ has been appointed as the public ambassador of the Jeju Regional Coast Guard Office (Chief Kim Seongjong).

‘South Carnival,’ appointed as the public ambassador on the 23rd, is a group formed in 2009 by members from Jeju and has actively participated in the ‘Saving Jeju Language’ movement through various global festivals and SNS.

The Jeju Coast Guard stated that they appointed ‘South Carnival’ as public ambassadors to widely promote the importance of maritime safety in the Jeju area.

At the appointment ceremony, a plaque and ambassador certificate were presented, and the national safety campaign “Please Wear a Life Jacket (Ha(e)juseyo)” was also held.

‘South Carnival’ will engage in public interest activities for the next three years as the Jeju Coast Guard’s public ambassadors, promoting maritime safety, spreading a culture of integrity, and conserving the marine environment.

Kim Seongjong, Chief of the Jeju Coast Guard Office, said, “I express my gratitude to the ambassadors who have agreed to work with the Jeju Coast Guard to create a safe and clean Jeju sea.” He added, “As public ambassadors of the Jeju Coast Guard, I hope they will carry out extensive promotional activities so that all citizens can safely engage in their livelihoods and enjoy leisure activities at sea.”
