[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in expressed relief that the '4th Supplementary Budget (추경)' passed the National Assembly plenary session through bipartisan agreement, allowing support to be provided to the public before Chuseok.

Kang Min-seok, Blue House spokesperson, stated at the Chuncheon Press Briefing on the afternoon of the 23rd, "President Moon Jae-in said it is fortunate that the government can support many citizens before Chuseok following the National Assembly's bipartisan agreement on the 4th supplementary budget yesterday," adding, "He mentioned that it includes a comprehensive livelihood economy plan to support citizens in urgent need, such as the Small Business New Hope Project."

Earlier, on the 22nd, the National Assembly plenary session approved the 4th supplementary budget worth 7.8 trillion won, which contains support for citizens affected by the resurgence of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). This was 11 days after the government submitted the supplementary budget proposal on the 11th of last month.
