[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) has concluded without indictment a case in which former representatives of professional baseball teams and umpires were suspected of making improper solicitations while playing golf, and the matter was referred to the police for investigation.

On the 23rd, the Seoul Suseo Police Station announced that on the 18th of this month, it had sent three individuals, including a former professional baseball team representative and umpires, to the prosecution with a non-prosecution opinion.

At the end of last year, the KBO received a report that Mr. A, who served as a baseball team representative during the 2016 regular season, umpire committee member Mr. B, and scorekeeper Mr. C had played golf together. Viewing this as a serious matter that could undermine fairness, the KBO formed an investigative committee and conducted an investigation for three months. However, due to the lack of compulsory investigative authority, difficulties arose in uncovering the truth, leading to a request for police investigation in March.

A police official stated, "As a result of the investigation, there was insufficient evidence to recognize their guilt."
