[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Hong Nam-ki said on the 23rd, "Out of the 57 tasks proposed by the business community, including AI-based prepaid taxi approval and non-face-to-face insurance contract cancellations, 42 regulations have been improved."

Deputy Prime Minister Hong stated at the second meeting of the Korean New Deal Party-Government Promotion Headquarters held at the National Assembly on the same day, "So far, the business community, the party, and the government have jointly formed the 'Korean New Deal Legislative and Institutional Reform Task Force (TF)' and, in just over a month, identified 161 institutional improvement tasks focused on the field and, through consultations with related agencies, have prepared improvement plans for 139 tasks in the first phase."

At the meeting, the progress of each division?digital, green, and safety net reinforcement?was reviewed, along with discussions on legislative reforms and promotion tasks related to the New Deal.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, "Regarding the promotion of the three pillars of the 160 trillion won Korean New Deal plan?Digital New Deal, Green New Deal, and safety net reinforcement?52 first-phase legislative tasks have been listed," adding, "We have requested the National Assembly to process 36 bills, including the Electronic Financial Transactions Act and the Renewable Energy Act, during this regular session, and we intend to strengthen party-government cooperation."

He continued, "For the successful promotion of the Korean New Deal, it is important that the three pillars?active fiscal investment, utilization of private capital, and regulatory and institutional reform?create a synergistic effect."

Deputy Prime Minister Hong emphasized, "The promotion of the Korean New Deal project is not a matter of whether to do it or not, or whether to proceed quickly or slowly, but an 'essential' task for the future of Korea and future generations," adding, "It is a very important challenge that the Korean New Deal Fund operates well and is revitalized in the mid to long term through 'market creativity and active participation.'"

He also said, "I hope and expect that the party and government will closely consult and exert momentum to promote the Korean New Deal at a rapid pace going forward."
