[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Arrest warrants have been requested for a church pastor and an elder accused of refusing to provide closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage for epidemiological investigation at Sarang Jeil Church and deliberately removing the data.
According to the police on the 23rd, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit applied for arrest warrants yesterday for Pastor A and Elder B of the church on charges of obstructing epidemiological investigations by quarantine authorities (violation of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act).
A and others are accused of refusing to provide CCTV footage of the church when Seongbuk District Office requested it for the epidemiological investigation of Sarang Jeil Church members who tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) last month, and deliberately removing the relevant data.
The police recently conducted a search of the church and uncovered evidence that A and others attempted to conceal related materials such as CCTV and PC hard disks, and have continued their investigation.
