[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 22nd, Lee Jeong-hyun, Chief Judge of the Criminal Division 2 at Changwon District Court in Gyeongnam, announced that A (58), who was tried on charges of attempted murder for wielding a weapon against an acquaintance during an argument, was sentenced to five years in prison.

In March of this year, A was drinking at the home of acquaintance B in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, when a dispute arose over A being reported by B's wife for sexual harassment.

B was stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife by the momentarily enraged A, but thanks to timely transportation to the hospital, B's life was not in danger.

The court stated, "Considering the means and method of the crime and the results, the culpability is very serious," and added, "The victim not only suffered severe injuries from this crime but is also believed to have experienced extreme shock and pain, with considerable aftereffects expected in the future."
