Ministry of Land Chooses Projects for 'Public Building Green Remodeling Program'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital (Director Shin Myung-geun) was recently selected as a support target for the 'Public Building Green Remodeling Project' promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, accelerating the creation of a pleasant hospital environment.
According to Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital on the 20th, the Public Building Green Remodeling Project is conducted to improve the energy performance and efficiency of buildings, targeting public buildings used by vulnerable groups that are over 15 years old, in accordance with the 'Green Building Creation Support Act.'
Celebrating its 16th anniversary this year, Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital applied for the project to improve facilities by installing high-performance window frames on all outpatient and ward interior windows and replacing existing fluorescent lights that have not yet been changed with high-efficiency LED lighting, and was selected as a supported hospital.
Securing 1.5 billion KRW in national subsidies out of a total project cost of 3 billion KRW, the hospital began design work this year and plans to complete the 'Green Remodeling Project' by the first half of next year.
Director Shin Myung-geun said, "As a cancer-specialized hospital located in a clean area surrounded by mountains and forests, customer satisfaction is very high," adding, "Through this remodeling, we will strive to provide a better patient-centered healing environment, improve lighting in medical and workspaces, and reduce electrical energy consumption."
