Lee Jae-myung: "Assemblyman Jang, demand an apology from Representative Kim Jong-in first for saying 'If you know the taste of the people's money, it will be a big problem'"

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, directly rebutted the opposition party 'People Power Party' (formerly the United Future Party) lawmaker Jang Je-won's criticism that "People Power Party is a fraud group? Can't Lee Jae-myung control his anger?" by saying, "It is a hundred times better for public servants to be outraged by injustice than to insult the people."

On the 19th, through Facebook, Governor Lee stated, "I learned that a noble person follows righteousness, a petty person follows profit, and if one does not get angry for justice and benevolence, one is not a noble person," adding, "I believe it is natural for public servants, as fellow public servants, to have public outrage against those who deceive, steal from, and insult the people."

He continued, "Rather, I think it is a swindle disguised as politics when public officials do not get outraged at public injustice," and questioned, "What advice would you give to the leader of your party (People Power Party) who, as a mere servant, says, 'If the people get a taste of money, it will be a big problem,' while using the owner's money?"

Furthermore, he asked again, "Putting aside your party's past human rights violations that even took innocent lives and hundreds of billions in bribery and corruption, what would you say to your party members who consistently ignore tens of billions in real-time asset concealment and suspected transactions worth hundreds of billions related to their duties, while exaggerating minor formal issues and acting like 'a dog with dirt on its fur scolding a dog with dust on its fur'?"

Governor Lee said, "Just as a small rice bowl is more important than a large trash container for hungry people, I believe that public servants' public outrage for the people is a hundred times better than acts that insult the people," and advised, "If you want to avoid criticism of double standards, before telling me to 'control my anger,' demand an apology from Kim Jong-in, who insulted the people with his 'taste of the people's money' remark."
