110 New COVID-19 Cases... 106 Locally Transmitted Cases, Triple Digits for 4 Consecutive Days

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 19th at midnight that there were 110 new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea. The total number of confirmed cases stands at 22,893.

Regarding the infection routes of the new confirmed cases on this day, 106 were locally transmitted and 4 were imported from overseas. The number of locally transmitted cases had shown a decreasing trend with double digits for three consecutive days from the 13th to the 15th (99, 98, 91 cases), but from the 16th to this day, it has recorded triple digits for four consecutive days (105, 145, 109, 106 cases).

The daily new confirmed cases have continued to record triple digits for 37 consecutive days since the cluster infections in the Seoul metropolitan area began in earnest on the 14th of last month.
