[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○… Yeoju Shilla CC, operated by KMH Group, has stepped up to help neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 17th, they donated 12 laptops worth 10 million KRW to underprivileged children in Yeoju City. Park Hyung-sik, CEO of Shilla CC, said, "We donated learning laptops to children struggling with online education," adding, "We will fulfill our role as a social enterprise for the community and neighbors." Lee Hang-jin, mayor of Yeoju City, responded, "We thank Shilla CC and KMH Group for their care and dedication to the region," and said, "We will deliver these to welfare facilities and children in need."
Since acquiring Shilla CC in 2016, KMH Group has been consistently engaged in volunteer activities. In spring, they hold the Hanmaeum Cherry Blossom Festival, donating part of the proceeds from cherry blossom stalls operated by caddies as contributions. In winter, a volunteer group of about 20 employees and caddies distributes briquettes, rice, and blankets to local residents suffering from the cold. Shilla CC is a prestigious public golf course with 27 holes. It has been selected as one of the top 10 golf courses for consumer satisfaction for three consecutive years.
