Construction of 92-unit Transit-Oriented Youth Housing in Junghwa-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] A transit-oriented youth housing complex with 92 households will be built in Junghwa-dong, Jungnang-gu, Seoul.

On the 20th, Seoul City announced that it held the 8th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee Transit-Oriented Youth Housing Subcommittee on the 18th and approved the amendment of the urban management plan decision for the transit-oriented youth housing project in the area of 306-48, Junghwa-dong, Jungnang-gu.

The project site covers an area of 786.1㎡ with a total of 92 households. Although it was deferred at the 7th Urban and Architectural Committee Transit-Oriented Youth Housing Subcommittee review in July, it was finally approved after this subcommittee review. Once the district unit plan is decided and announced, the youth housing project will be possible on the site.

The transit-oriented youth housing targets young people aged 19 to 39. The city expects it to contribute to youth revitalization in the area by providing rental housing cheaper than the surrounding area and planning various youth-related community facilities. A city official stated, "The relevant district office will proceed with the building permit procedures in the future."
