Secured 5.1 Billion KRW in National Funds, Construction of Complex Sports and Culture Center by the End of 2023
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Haenam County has been finally selected in the ‘2021 Living SOC Complex Project’ competition hosted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
According to Haenam County on the 18th, the Living SOC Complex Project involves the integrated development of infrastructure closely related to daily life, and it is a highly competitive contest among local governments to be selected for the project.
Through this project, Haenam County plans to complete a complex sports and cultural center near Useul Sports Park by 2023. Out of the total project cost of 8.6 billion KRW, 5.1 billion KRW will be supported by national funds.
The complex sports and cultural center will be a multi-purpose facility with a total area of 3,250㎡, consisting of one basement floor and two above-ground floors. It will integrate a swimming pool specialized for the disabled and a small library, and provide spaces such as a fitness room to create a sports and cultural space that local residents can enjoy together.
County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan stated, “Being selected for the construction of a complex sports and cultural center that can improve the quality of life for local residents, we expect it to be a facility that can be comfortably used by not only the disabled but all local residents,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure the project proceeds without any setbacks.”
