[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province (Governor Kim Young-rok) has urged residents to actively use the grave mowing agency service promoted by the provincial city and county forestry cooperatives to minimize the movement of people for grave mowing during the Chuseok holiday.
The grave mowing agency service can be applied for by visiting the forestry cooperative at the grave site directly, or through various channels such as the forestry cooperative website, mobile home, or phone.
In particular, providing an accurate description or a rough map of the grave location when submitting the application form enables faster processing. Depending on local conditions, after estimating the cost and confirming the payment, the service can be used immediately.
The agency fee is based on 80,000 KRW per grave, with variations applied depending on vehicle access distance, number of graves, and area.
Members of the cooperative receive a 10% discount, and regular customers (applying for more than 3 years) receive a 5% discount.
Usage fees vary depending on the regional forestry cooperative, so it is essential to inquire in advance before use.
This year, 5,233 service applications have been received by forestry cooperatives in Jeonnam Province, and the cooperative plans to receive an additional 2,000 applications and complete the service before Chuseok.
Park Hyun-sik, Director of the Environmental Forestry Bureau of Jeonnam Province, said, “To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the region, residents’ movement must be minimized,” and added, “Please make maximum use of the grave mowing agency service promoted by the forestry cooperatives.”
