Increasing 'Technology Cooperation' in the Post-Corona Era

[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] The Ministry of Science and ICT will co-host a workshop with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) via video conference from the 21st to the 24th to discuss international technology cooperation in the digital era and the implementation plan for neurotechnology innovation.


On the 21st and 22nd, measures to promote international technology cooperation in the digital era after the end of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) will be discussed. Based on the OECD international technology cooperation recommendations, participants will share opinions on the impact of the spread of digital technology on international technology cooperation, strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises and public research institutes to respond to COVID-19 and changes in the global trade environment, governance of emerging technologies, and statistical measurement.


On the 23rd and 24th, the implementation plan for responsible neurotechnology innovation will be discussed. Topics include building institutional capacity to promote the implementation and utilization of the OECD recommendations on responsible neurotechnology innovation, sharing and dissemination of the recommendations, and monitoring plans.


Jung Hee-kwon, Director of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "Through this Korea-OECD joint workshop, by leading discussions on establishing OECD norms, which play a major role in global science and technology policy, we will enhance the international status of Korea's science and technology policy amid the changing flow of the digital science era."
