[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics launched its third foldable phone, the 'Galaxy Z Fold2,' in the global market on the 18th. The domestic release schedule was postponed to the 23rd due to an overwhelming number of pre-orders.
On this day, Samsung Electronics introduced the Galaxy Z Fold2 in major countries including the United States, Singapore, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and France. Samsung plans to expand the release to about 80 countries by the end of October. The number of countries launching the Galaxy Z Fold2 has doubled compared to the Galaxy Fold released last year.
Samsung Electronics is conducting launch events or operating experience stores with thorough quarantine systems according to the local situations of each country. Large outdoor advertisements for the 'Galaxy Z Fold2' are being displayed in major cities such as New York, Madrid, and Moscow.

The domestic release date was set for the 23rd, extended due to the pre-order enthusiasm which prolonged the pre-opening period until the 22nd. Pre-order sales exceeded 80,000 units.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 features a larger screen than its predecessor, with a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.2-inch cover display. It offers a mobile experience that leverages the foldable form factor, including 'Flex Mode,' which allows the device to stand at a desired angle, and 'App Continuity,' enabling seamless use across the two displays.
