Jangseong-gun 'Return-to-Farming School' Second Half Online Classes Begin

Jangseong-gun 'Return-to-Farming School' Second Half Online Classes Begin

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it has opened the second half of the Yellow City Returning-to-Farming School Basic Agriculture Course online.

The Basic Agriculture Course is a foundational liberal education program aimed at new return-to-farming individuals and those hoping to return or relocate to rural areas. It has been promoted annually to support the successful settlement of returnees and rural migrants.

For the second half of this year, a non-face-to-face online class format was applied to prevent COVID-19.

The existing curriculum, which mainly consisted of acquiring basic skills in crop cultivation and practical training by crop type, was changed to include courses such as "Understanding Jangseong-gun: Jangseong-gun Yellow Color Marketing and Gogh" and "Starting in Jangseong: Knowledge on Purchasing Farmland and Farmhouses."

Additionally, courses for overcoming COVID Blue (depression caused by COVID-19) and subjects to help the stable settlement of returnees and rural migrants, such as "Understanding and Planning for Returning to Farming and Rural Migration" and "Rural Resident Conflict Management," were also prepared.

The county plans to later organize small groups of students to experience Seonbi culture at Pilamsuwon Confucian Academy and visit advanced farms.

Yoo Dooseok, the mayor of Jangseong-gun, said, "We have prepared this program thoroughly to provide useful information to new farmers and returning or relocating residents," adding, "We hope this will be an opportunity to understand and deeply love Jangseong."
