According to Daegu City on the 16th, a man in his 70s living in Jung-gu was classified as a contact of a confirmed case from a Cordyceps business briefing (confirmed on the 3rd in Gyeongsan) and tested positive in a test conducted before the end of his self-quarantine. The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to the Cordyceps business briefing held on the 29th of last month has increased to 20, including this man.

A man in his 70s living in Dong-gu tested positive on the 15th after undergoing a test due to symptoms of cough and sore throat, and his wife, also in her 70s, was confirmed positive after additional specimen testing. Additionally, a woman in her 20s living in Suseong-gu was notified of a positive result after visiting a public health center for testing due to headaches and abdominal pain.

Accordingly, as of midnight on the 16th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daegu increased by four from the previous day, totaling 7,116 (7,037 community infections, 79 imported cases). Currently, 76 confirmed patients are undergoing isolation treatment, hospitalized in four local hospitals.

Meanwhile, on the previous day (the 15th), no new confirmed cases, including imported cases, were reported in Daegu. The zero community infection count on this day marks the first time in eight days since the 7th. It is also the first time in 22 days since the 24th of last month that no daily new confirmed cases, including imported cases, have been reported.
