[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] BJ Seya, who had suspended activities for over two months following the death of BJ Park So-eun, shared her feelings through a broadcast.
On the 14th, BJ Seya read a pre-written note on her AfreecaTV broadcast, saying, "I apologize for reading from a notepad because I was afraid I might not be able to express myself properly."
She continued, "I want to apologize to that friend who is suffering even in heaven due to my wrong actions. I am truly sorry for causing discomfort to viewers, fans, that friend, their family, and fans because of this incident," expressing regret toward the late BJ Park So-eun and others.
Seya said, "I heard that the family does not want to be mentioned, so I will refrain from mentioning them from today onward. Before my explanatory broadcast on July 4th, I wanted to call or contact that friend, but I was unable to reach them. However, certain posts appeared on internet sites, and I was being accused of committing a crime."
She added, "The incident occurred on July 9th, and I learned about it through that boyfriend. I heard that Park So-eun was struggling due to malicious comments. After that incident, I couldn’t broadcast because I was very scared and fearful, and I was afraid that her name would be reported again in the news and that it would cause harm."
Finally, she said, "Compared to the pain that friend and their family must have endured, I think I am nothing. From now on, I will be careful with every action and live with a lifelong sense of apology."
Earlier, Park So-eun’s younger sibling announced on July 13th, "Last week, our sister became a star in the sky. She had been really struggling because of malicious comments," revealing the news of Park So-eun’s tragic choice.
The late Park So-eun had actively broadcast after moving from PopcornTV to AfreecaTV but became embroiled in a personal life controversy in July.
At that time, a netizen claiming to be Park So-eun’s ex-boyfriend posted a personal life expos? about her on an online community. The post included claims that the famous male BJ Seya had called Park So-eun, who had a boyfriend, to his home, and that Park So-eun had visited BJ Seya’s house.
On July 4th, Seya addressed the related allegations on her AfreecaTV channel. However, after Park So-eun’s death, criticism surged. Subsequently, Seya made videos filmed with Park So-eun private on her AfreecaTV and YouTube channels.
