[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Seul-gi] On the 5th, Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, said, "When the one-man dominant party emerged in the history of the Grand National Party, Saenuri Party, and Liberty Korea Party, it ultimately headed toward the path of destruction." This statement is interpreted as targeting the party name change led by Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in.
On the same day, Jang wrote on his Facebook, "One-man dominance should never be justified for any reason, whether it is a crisis or reform."
He added, "We changed the signboard to the name 'People Power.' I am thinking about how to create a 100-year party," and explained, "A disciplined one-man dominant system led to impeachment, and if one says 'it's my authority, so I will do as I please,' it leads to the path of becoming a private party."
He said, "Since entering politics, I fought when it was the 'Lee Myung-bak Party,' was ousted while fighting during the 'Park Geun-hye Party,' and also fought for this cause during the 'Hwang Kyo-ahn Party' era," emphasizing, "'People Power' should have neither walls nor barriers. It must be reborn as a flexible and open democratic party that endlessly unites, integrates, and accompanies all forces and figures moving in the same direction."
He continued, "Embarrassingly, realizing 'party democracy,' which we have never experienced in our party history, should be our first reform task," and pointed out, "Nothing is stronger than democratic decision-making. This is the way to build a 100-year party."
