[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korea Road Traffic Authority announced on the 2nd that it is conducting the "Smart Promise Campaign to Not Drink and Drive" together with OB Beer until the 29th of this month.

This campaign is a nationwide online pledge campaign where participants vow not to take the wheel "even for a single second" if they have had even one drink. It was planned to raise awareness about drunk driving, based on the fact that most habitual drunk driving starts with short-distance drunk driving.

The campaign includes partners such as the online parking platform "Modu-ui Juchajang" and the vehicle repair app operator "Carang," who encourage their app users to participate in the pledge to not drink and drive.

To participate in the campaign, visit the "Smart Promise Campaign" website (http://nodrunkdriving.kr) online or via mobile by the 29th of this month, check your basic knowledge of drunk driving through a true/false quiz, and then write your name on the pledge page to not drink and drive. Participation is also possible through QR codes placed at the driver's license issuance counters in 27 driver's license examination centers nationwide.

A representative from the Korea Road Traffic Authority said, "Through this campaign, we want drivers themselves to pledge not to drink and drive, emphasizing that no matter how small the amount of alcohol consumed, they should never take the wheel." He added, "Since anyone aged 19 or older can participate online, we hope this will serve as an opportunity to spread a nationwide commitment to eradicating drunk driving."
