[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 27th that a family of four, including Mr. A (male, in his 40s) living in Unyang-dong, his spouse, and their two children, tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
They were identified to have had contact with confirmed case Mr. B from the Bucheon area, were quarantined at home the previous day, underwent specimen testing, and all were confirmed positive on the same day.
Both children are under the age of 10 and were found to have attended a daycare center in Sau-dong.
Health authorities, considering the possibility of infection spreading within this daycare center, have temporarily closed it for 14 days and are conducting specimen tests sequentially on 52 enrolled children and 13 childcare teachers.
As a result, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Gimpo area increased to 107 as of 12 noon on the same day.
