Ddokdak "Expansion of 'Untact Hospital Visits' Trend Amid COVID-19 Resurgence"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Vibros (CEO Song Yong-beom), which operates the hospital reservation service 'Ddokdak,' announced on the 27th that hospital visit trends have been rapidly shifting to 'untact' since the 13th, when the daily confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Korea exceeded 100.

According to Ddokdak's analysis of the number of patients visiting partner hospitals, the average number of patients visiting one hospital per day from the 13th to the 26th over two weeks was 18.6, a decrease of about 20% compared to 23.2 patients in the previous two weeks. On the other hand, during the same period, the average daily number of users of Ddokdak's mobile medical appointment and registration service per partner hospital was 11, an increase of about 13% compared to 9.7 in the previous two weeks.

With the resurgence of COVID-19, many patients avoid hospital visits due to concerns about secondary infections. However, patients who need to visit hospitals for vaccinations, acute illnesses, or treatment of underlying conditions actively use mobile medical appointment and registration functions to minimize their time spent at the hospital, Vibros analyzed.

Song Yong-beom, CEO of Vibros, said, "As COVID-19 confirmed cases surge, the number of patients using mobile medical appointment and registration services to visit hospitals is rapidly increasing, and many hospitals are proactively encouraging patients to register for medical services via mobile first. As the paradigm of hospital visits accelerates its change, we will evolve through large-scale app renovations to ensure that both patients and hospitals can complete medical treatments conveniently and safely."
