33 Million Individual Taxpayers Receive 5% Discount on SME Products at Tax Point Mall
Additional Benefits Using Tax Points Including Priority Access to 'Taxpayer Tax Law Classroom'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] The National Tax Service announced on the 26th that it has launched the 'Tax Points Online Discount Shopping Mall' to promote a culture of preferential treatment for diligent taxpayers.
The Tax Points Mall is an exclusive online shopping mall where tax points (1 point per 100,000 KRW) can be used to purchase small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) products at a discount.
More than 33 million individual taxpayers can receive a 5% discount benefit with 1 tax point when purchasing SME products.
In addition to the Tax Points Mall, the National Tax Service has prepared various tax benefits using tax points, including deferral of collection measures for small arrears, priority enrollment in the 'Taxpayer Tax Law Classroom,' and use of the Incheon International Airport Business Center, adding new benefits.
Furthermore, the existing benefit of exemption from providing tax payment guarantees when applying for tax payment deferral (extension of payment deadline or collection deferral) using tax points has been relaxed so that the minimum usage standard for corporations is the same as that for individuals.
Kim Dae-ji, Commissioner of the National Tax Service, said, "We hope that the launch of the Tax Points Mall will help spread a culture of diligent tax payment and support the market expansion of SMEs," adding, "We will continue to actively strive to discover new preferential benefits for tax points to enhance the sense of reward and pride among diligent taxpayers."
