[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Samyook University announced on the 23rd that it has canceled the official ceremony for the 2019 academic year second semester degree conferment. Instead of holding the ceremony scheduled for the 21st, Samyook University lent academic gowns and caps to students who visited the campus that day so they could take commemorative photos. A large banner was hung on the outer wall of the main auditorium to create a graduation atmosphere. Diplomas were distributed at each department office, and students who could not come to the school were sent their diplomas by mail to their homes. Everyone entering the campus was required to wear masks, and a screening clinic was also operated. Entry to buildings and classrooms was only allowed after temperature checks and sticker placement. Small-scale events held by some departments were conducted in strict compliance with quarantine guidelines. The graduates who received degrees included 267 bachelor's degree recipients, 9 doctoral and 15 master's degree recipients from the general graduate school, 1 doctoral recipient from the Graduate School of Theology, and 3 master's recipients from the Graduate School of Theology. The group also included 6 international students from countries such as China and the Philippines, as well as 5 students with disabilities.
