3 Years of Government Funding Support of 500 Million KRW for Various Program Operating Expenses

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced on the 19th that the 'Ire Youth Counseling Education Center' in the province was selected in the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent Alternative Education Consignment Institution Support Project Contest.'
The 'Excellent Alternative Education Consignment Institution Support Project' is an initiative by the Ministry of Education to actively support alternative education consignment institutions that operate distinctive alternative education programs. Institutions are selected through a contest, and program operation expenses of up to 500 million KRW per institution are supported annually for three years through yearly evaluations.
The Ire Youth Counseling Education Center was finally selected after a document review last month and an in-person evaluation this month, and will receive 142 million KRW in support for the first year starting next month.
Located in Uichang-gu, Changwon City, the Ire Youth Counseling Education Center will conduct new project classes in addition to existing alternative curriculum classes such as regular subjects and crafts through this support project.
As alternative project classes, they will open courses such as urban beekeeping management, lifestyle modeling, baking, barista, pop art, and flower arrangement technician certification classes.
Park Se-gwon, Director of Democratic Citizenship Education, stated, "The Gyeongnam Office of Education designates and operates 13 alternative education consignment institutions for students who are maladjusted to school or wish for education suited to their talents and aptitudes," and added, "We will actively support and nurture alternative education consignment institutions."
