[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] On the 14th, the government appointed Kim Yong-rae (52, photo), Director of the Industrial Innovation Growth Office at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, as the new Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (27th Commissioner).
The new Commissioner Kim has held key positions related to industry, trade, and energy. He is especially recognized for his extensive experience in the fields of industry and trade.
Born in 1968, Commissioner Kim graduated from Yeongnak High School in Seoul, earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Yonsei University, and obtained a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Leeds in the UK.
He entered public service through the 26th Technical Examination and has served in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as Director of the Materials and Components Industry Policy Division, Director of the Energy Industry Policy Division, Deputy Minister for Trade, and Director of the Industrial Innovation Growth Office.
